5 Year Old

Miss Lilly is 5! Not sure how that happened, considering if you asked me and I responded with the answer that I think she should be it would probably be 2 ... time is just ticking away and she is growing up oh so fast. With baseball season in full gear we had to split the celebration time and do half on one night and half the next morning. So, the above photo is the breakfast celebration complete with pancakes (made by dad) and candles.
This is the evening celebration - we surprised her with a family trip to build a bear - she was ecstatic and then an evening at the "elegant" Pizza King here in town (apparently an Indiana tradition). They have a train that brings your drinks and a T.V. in every booth that you can put quarters in to watch cartoons while you eat ... a kids eating out heaven. Big D certainly thought it was the coolest place in town too!
Then the presents ... I love it when it only takes a few dollars to make them happy! Zhu Zhu pets, sidewalk chalk, and a jump rope and she is set for life - or so she seems to be. Miss Lilly is really turning into a delightful girl ... for so long we have struggled with temper tantrums and 'angry eyes' but it is amazing to watch her learn to deal with all those emotions in a more mature Miss Lilly way and at the same time still be herself as she interacts with others. She is quickly becoming my buddy in the garden, my helper in the kitchen, my friend in the dressing room and my daughter who forgives me and loves me despite my many faults. We love you Miss Lilly!
