Preschool Graduate

It's official - all the children of the Flora Family have graduated from preschool!  Yea!  Big D got to celebrate with a short program with his class, passing out 'diplomas' with a little reception following.
Here he is with his fabulous teachers and his dad.
We made some 'graduation hats' for treats. Thank you pinterest for making that possible.  Super cute and super easy to make! As their certificates were handed out, Big D's teacher asked the kids what they wanted to be when they grew up.  Big D wants to be an 'artist' when he grows up because ' he likes to paint'.  In think J.D. and I better keep working on our own retirement :)

Conner Prairie

We had out cousins from PA come for just a few days.  We love it when we get to see them!!!  So, where did we take them?  Conner Prairie of course!  With cousins in town we just had to check it out with them ...
 The girls in school!
Big D and his little cousin trying out the rifles ...

 Love this little lady -

 and this lady ...
and these ladies ... and gentlemen

It was fun to have a baby in the house ... the kids were so cute to watch with her.  Master S even tried out babysitting a few times, watching the baby while everyone else was busy.  He liked it enough that he is signed up for a safe sitter course this summer.  Can it be?!  Are we really there?!  Is there really potential ahead for leaving them at home while I go grocery shopping?!?!  I don't know ... I'll have to think about that one!

Miss Lilly's Baptism

Miss Lilly is 8 ... 'sigh' where does the time go?  This was an extra special birthday as she was baptized a member of our church.

This is her with her 'best cousin' Annie ... they are the same age and love every minute they get together.
Miss Lilly was lucky enough to have another girl her age get baptized at the same time as her - here they are together.  They sang the song 'Miracles' by Shawna Edwards.  They did a fabulous job!(link: http://youtu.be/zZ2djzQ9J64 )
It was an extra special day because it was also her birthday and she got to open presents and have a big party after at our house.
And she got flowers ... aren't they beautiful!  It was a beautiful day and so wonderful to have family and friends to celebrate with us.

Big D is really getting BIG!

Big D started t-ball this spring.

He LOVES everything about it, including the uniform, the glove, the games, the practice.  It is what motivates him to do anything these days ... the whole idea that there might be a baseball game involved gets him to do all kinds of things.

Master S and Miss Lilly are finding that having to go to someone else's games/practices messes with their personal agendas ... but funny how they find entertainment regardless of their protests.  They found a couple other kids to play 'baseball' during the game the other day behind the bleachers ... despite not having a glove, or a bat.
Big D is rapidly approaching kindergarten, and with that comes all kinds of fun activities for preschool.  This was kite day.
We had a great time until he accidentally let go of the string and the kite floated across the very busy street into the Kohl's parking lot and he was devastated ... until he watched mom run through traffic and chase it down in the parking lot!  I'm sure that was a funny sight!  Got two good workouts that day!
We also had bike day recently.  He has said more than once, after a long 'sigh', "Mom, I wish everyday was bike day!"  He learned to ride back in January without training wheels, but has been very nervous about it and has refused to ride his bike, until bike day.  And there is something to be said for positive peer pressure!!!  He learned how to turn and how to start and stop all in one day and now I can't get him off it!  He is so excited to go on a real bike ride with the 'whole family' this summer.  (so am I!)
