6 months in Review

'Sigh'  It has been a really long time since I've updated ...
Big D had a birthday, and played in a piano recital,

Master S got his 'Life Award' for scouts ... officially passing up his Dad's rank achievements from his boyhood scout experience.

We built snowmen ... and more snowmen ... and then we finally got to Spring!

We had an epic birthday for J.D. who happened to turn 40 this year!  I don't think he will soon forget this one ...

I was able to travel to Boise, ID to be with my family, as my Grandfather passed away.  It was a wonderful opportunity to be with family and remember an amazing life that has deeply touched my life and many, many others.

When I got back it wasn't long before spring break!  We were home most of the time,

Went to the zoo with some dear friends that moved this spring ...

And took a 24 hours trip to Cincinnati, OH

They have an awesome Aquarium -- a must see if you are ever there!

And we checked out the museum at the old train depot ...

Just a great pic of Master S ...

who suddenly turned 13,

who also got braces ...

and made the golf team!

We celebrated Easter ...

Master S joined the NJHS,

Miss Lilly was invited with the other girls at church to participate in the annual Cub Scout Pinewood Derby.  She loved it!

Big D started Baseball season ...

His siblings love going to watch the games ...

Big D is committed to it ... even in his sleep.

His Coach tries to get him to smile during the games ... but he is focused!

We celebrated Miss Lilly's birthday with a party full of 10 and 11 year old girls, "Bookworm Theme"
with some crazy minute to win it games.

She tried to teach her older brother how to roller skate ... hahahaha!  Still laughing about this one!

   She tried a tennis class,

We went to the annual Brownsburg Schools pops concert to hear Master S play his trumpet in the Jazz Band and the 7th grade band,

We had an uncle visit from Utah and took him to see the Indiana State Museum.  It was so fun to have some family visit and share Indiana with!

A couple ladies got their ears pierced ... and no one fainted!

Miss Lilly's team at school made an awesome Rube Goldberg Machine.

Master S received an award from his Science teacher for being an 'outstanding Science student',

And Big D finally lost his 1st tooth!

Now school is out, summer stretches ahead and I am amazed at how fast time is ticking.

Christmas 2014

Master S is in the Jazz Band this year and loves it.  In December he played in a festival in Bloomington with the Jazz Band and had a solo that he won an award for.  So amazed at his courage to do new things and embrace the anxiety that comes with performing in front of people!
On the way home from watching Master S in Jazz Band, we stopped at a tree farm.
 We didn't want a huge tree ...
Miss Lilly wasn't convinced this was the one ...
But I think everyone ended up happy on the drive home.  Maybe ...
We had our annual Christmas Eve party and I had a dear friend join us.  We had over 25 people in our house!  It was constant crazy, but so much fun!  The annual gingerbread contest was held,
awards were given, we had a fabulous Italian dinner and J.D. made Mormon friendly Tiramisu and the kids acted out the nativity while we read the story in Luke II.

The highlight was J.D.'s parents joined us for Christmas this year.  It was wonderful to have them here.
 Christmas morning, bright and early!!!
Miss Lilly loved her new camera.
Big D trying out the nerf guns with the 'angry bird' cans - see our beautiful tree in the living room?!
Master S figuring out his quadcopter.

A few days after Christmas we took J.D.'s parents and the kids to see 'Jingle Rail's' at the Eiteljorg museum in Indianapolis.
It is always a really impressive train display.
Here are the kids entertaining themselves, playing twister together - love Big D's face.  He loves being in the position to torture his older siblings!
The kids and I hanging out.
And now it is January - and it is SO COLD!  Love the Midwest and the artic air!
