We decided to have a celebration, considering we won't be around for another one after this year. Karl is close by, at BYU and the kids absolutely adore having him come for dinner. We offered to take him out to dinner for his birthday, but he wanted me to cook :) That made me feel great - maybe I actually come close to mom's cooking these days -- or he is just a long ways from home and even a poor substitue will do -- I'll take the complement either way! He loves cars, so we thought we'd make a car cake too. Turned out great and the kids had a great time!
