The Indianapolis Museum of Art is an incredible place all by itself - plus it has gardens that are beautifully maintained. This summer they opened a new part called '100 Acres' that is designed for kids to interact with art in nature. Some friends invited us to go one afternoon and I think I might add it to 'the things you have to do when you visit us' list.

There is a great big skeleton laid out on the lawn in one area - the kids loved jumping from the ribs to the spine to the skull.

There is also a basketball court that has these huge pieces of metal bent and painted to follow the track of the balls as they bounce. There aren't any balls, but the kids had a great time climbing on it.

There is lake with a boat, and an island that looks like an igloo where artists live in the summer. You can write them messages and send them off on the lake in little islands. It was a great place to explore with the kids.
